Privacy policy

This policy is short because there is very little to disclose. EmailSigner was built so that we cannot collect your data, which is a stronger guarantee than promising we won’t.

What happens to what you type

The signature generator is a static web page. Everything you enter (name, phone number, links, an uploaded photo or logo) is processed by JavaScript running in your own browser. It is never transmitted to us, because there is no server-side application to send it to.

To let you continue where you left off, your draft is saved to your browser’s local storage, on your device. You can erase it at any time with the studio’s Start over button, or by clearing site data in your browser.

Share links

If you use Share link, your signature details are encoded into the link itself (after the # symbol). Fragments are not sent to web servers by browsers, and we have no analytics that could read them. Treat a share link like the signature it contains: send it only to people you’d hand your business card to. Uploaded images are deliberately excluded from share links.

Cookies and analytics

EmailSigner sets no cookies and currently runs no analytics at all: no Google Analytics, no pixels, no fingerprinting, nothing. If we ever add measurement, it will be a cookieless, aggregate-only counter (of the “this page was viewed N times” kind), it will not identify you, and this page will be updated first to say so.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard, short-lived web server logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user agent) for security and abuse prevention, as virtually every host does. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.

Third-party links

Pages link to external sites, for example plainforge and the Buy Me a Coffee donation page. Following those links takes you to services with their own privacy policies; nothing about your signature travels with you.

A few of those links are partner links, marked “Partner link” where they appear. They are ordinary <a href> links: no affiliate script, no pixel, no cookie is set by this site, and the CSP is unchanged. The commission is attributed by the destination service after you arrive, using its own redirect, so the only thing that identifies the click is which page you left from. Nothing you typed into the studio is included, because it never leaves your browser in the first place. The commercial terms are in the terms.

Your data, your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete; the data subject to GDPR-style rights sits entirely on your own device, under your control. If you believe we’ve gotten something wrong, contact us and we’ll fix it.
